NEW JERSEY, August 27, 2011 – Artists of all different mediums will be showing their work at an art exhibition called “I Heart Art”. All of the artwork is for sale and all of the artists will be in attendance to discuss their craft in detail. The singing duo, She Hates Me will be performing from 7:30 to 8:30 pm. The public is invited and admission is free.
This unique setting gives the attendee the personal feeling of a small art gallery exhibit inside combined with the feeling of a quaint garden cafe outside. Lights strung from the trees and spotlighted artwork outdoors will add to the ambiance. Sip wine, nibble a bit and enjoy a stroll through the art, all while listening to wonderful music from six different decades by She Hates Me. This duo offers a fresh interpretation of a variety of songs ranging from the jazz standards of the 30’s and 40’s to the guilty pleasures of 80’s pop.

HUGE (300+ Consignors) Kids Consignment Event in Burlington Township New Jersey
NJ moms help families save big at NJ’s semi-annual kid’s saleBurlington Township, NJ — Best Dressed for Less is a children’s consignment sale that benefits local NJ families in many ways. More than 300 parents sell their kids’ gently used clothes, toys, and furniture. Other parents come to shop the bargains. By gathering so much stuff in one place we create a fabulous collection of new and gently used kids’ merchandise. We also help local families in need by donating whatever is left over at the end of each sale to Family Service of Burlington County.
That’s Best Dressed for Less in a nutshell. It’s not just a big garage sale; it’s the biggest, most organized children’s resale event you can imagine! Items are all tagged with bar codes and displayed in groups by size and product type making it easy to shop. This concept has really caught on all over the country. People drive from as far as an hour away to take advantage of these sales. With 300+ families contributing items to the sale and well over 2000 shoppers, this no garage sale!
The first goal in organizing this event is to help families turn their unused children’s clothes, toys, and gear into cash. This sale motivates everyone to clean out their garages, basements, closets and playrooms by giving them a way to make great money with very little effort. Best Dressed for Less is an opportunity to make some money back on your original investment AND to get those unused kids items out of your house and into the hands of someone who needs them.
The upcoming BEST DRESSED FOR LESS Spring/Summer Sale will take place April 8th-10th 2011 at the Masonic Home of NJ Fellowship Center in Burlington Township, NJ. This sale is for families with kids of all ages and expecting moms.

Are there any updates on progress at The Lumberyard? The last update on the Mayor’s Blog expected progress in Fall 2010 but I don’t see any movement at all. The unfinished site is becoming an eyesore. I have to question how many people are paying upwards of $275K for a 2 br 2 bath unit when they can get a whole house with a yard just blocks away?

The 2010 Collingswood Holiday Parade will be held on Saturday, November 27 beginning at 10 am running along Haddon Avenue beginning at Zane Avenue. Make the parade part of your holiday tradition.
The parade, packed with bands, dancers, entertainers, floats and more, will begin at Zane Avenue at 10 am and continue to West Linden Avenue, through the heart of historic Collingswood. Our Grand Marshal this year will be NBC 10 News Today Anchor Terry Ruggles. Cars from the Original Garden State Corvette Club and dozens of other antique and historic autos and motorcycles will drive down the parade route. The Phillie Phanatic and other Philadelphia Sports mascots will ride along also. Dance to marching bands, Mummers, string bands and oldies tunes to keep warm. Be sure to pour your cocoa early to get a good spot.
If your group or organization is interested in participating in the Parade, you download and complete the Appearance Agreement on the web site – http://www.collingswood.com/entertainment/holiday-parade.
