PARENTING 2010 WORKSHOP OFFERED: WHOSE HOMEWORK IS IT ANYWAY?
How do parents encourage and support their children when it comes to homework and not do the work for them? Dr. Judith Kramer, Ph.D., from Colts Neck Consulting Group, will be at the Colts Neck Reformed Church in our brick Education Building, on Wednesday,… Nov. 10th, from 7:30—9:00 PM to answer the question “Whose Homework Is It Anyway?” Everyone wants their kids to do well, but how do you avoid rescuing them when you should be just monitoring their work. Parents of any age child would benefit from this presentation.

COLTS NECK REFORMED CHURCH
ELECTION DAY LUNCHEON, DINNER AND BAZAARIt’s that time of year again for the Colts Neck Reformed Church’s 144th Election Day Luncheon, Dinner, and Craft Bazaar. This year’s festivities will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, located on Route 537 in Colts Neck. The luncheon is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (take-out orders are available beginning at 11:00 a.m.) The price is $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under age 12. The menu includes a choice of hot turkey sandwich or turkey salad plate. Both include cider, cranberry relish, dessert, and beverage.
Three (3) reserved dinner seatings will be available at 5:00, 6:00 and 7:15 p.m. (take-out service is available from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. only.) The price for a sit-down dinner ticket is $13.50 for adults and $6.00 for children under age 12. The take-out dinner ticket is $14.00 for adults and $6.50 for children under age 12. The menu includes a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, served family style.
Tickets are available through the church office (732-462-4555) from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Take-out and reserved seating tickets must be paid for in advance.
A Craft Bazaar is held on the lower level of the Education Building from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The bazaar will feature holiday gifts, handmade crafts and homemade baked goods.
The church, located at 72 County Road 537 West, ¼ mile west of Route 34, is handicapped accessible.

JOIN US FOR A PRESENTATION ON THE HISTORY OF CHOIRS IN THE REFORMED CHURCH
Dr. David Tripold, Associate Professor and Chair of the Music and Theater Department at Monmouth University, and Organist and Senior Choir Director at the Colts Neck Reformed Church, will be presenting a program on choirs in the Reformed Church. Dr. Tripold has written a book on music in the Dutch Reformed Church in America, 1775-1860. On Sunday, November 7th, Dave will share his knowledge of the musical history of the church. He will be discussing the origins of choirs in the Dutch Reformed Church in America from the colonial era to the Civil War. The program will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the Colts Neck Reformed Church’s Fellowship Hall, located upstairs in the brick Education Building. You are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch. The Colts Neck Reformed Church is located on Rt. 537, 1/4 mile west of Rt. 34 in Colts Neck. Call 732-462-4555 for additional information.
